JUNE FAVORITES

Welcome back to yet another monthly favorites! We’re in the thick of summer and I have got a lot of new stuff to share with you guys so let’s get started!

CLOTHES

I wanted to include a little top that I just got from Forever21. It’s a collared crop top with short sleeves, which is a style that I have been loving this summer. I like to refer to it as ‘tourist chic’, haha. I love the print on this one; it’s got large tropical leaves and little orange slices all over it. It feels like the perfect summer top and I love wearing it. I also wanted to include a bathing suit because I just picked up my FIRST one-piece since I was like 8 haha, and I love it. I have been searching for a cool red one-piece and randomly found this one at Macy’s. It is a brand called Becca and it was on sale for about $70. It has a lot of cool cut outs and lacy bits that I thought looked so fun. It also gives a nice shape to your waist that I feel like a lot of one pieces tend to skim over. I also included this dress that I ordered from Lulu’s. It’s called the Iced Latte dress and  I got it in black. It has a mesh bit on the neck and sleeves and then little tassels hanging off the sleeves. I think it is just a fun little twist on the classic LBD and I can’t wait to wear it on a nice summer evening out with my shoes of the month.

SHOES

My shoes are very similar to a pair I bought back in spring. I loved the Chinese Laundry heeled sandals I picked up in brown, so I went on a search for a similar pair in black. I found the most amazing deal at Macy’s for a pair of black heeled suede sandals from a brand I hadn’t heard of called “Call it Spring”. They were on sale for only $20 which was amazing and I think they are perfect for so many different occasions. I just love the versatility of these kinds of shoes offer, as I can truly dress them up or down.

ACCESSORIES

I have 2 fun accessories that I picked up this month and I am obsessed with both of them. The first is this little hat by Nine West. It’s a wide-brimmed straw hat but it isn’t floppy. I really liked the two-tone coloring so that it can go with a lot of different things. It was on sale for about $20 and I can’t wait to wear it to the beach with my new swimsuit! I also picked up a new necklace from Forever21 and I frickin love it. I really wanted a new, simple gold necklace to wear with otherwise plain outfits. I found this layered piece and loved it. It was only like $5 and I haven’t stopped wearing it since I picked it up. Definitely a solid buy.

GAMES

I had to include the games section because there is one game that I have become addicted to over the past few weeks and that is The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. I picked it up on Steam during the summer sale and I haven’t been able to stop playing since. I was recommended this game by a lot of friends and I am not disappointed. There is so much to do and so many different ways to play the game. I love it and I can foresee it giving me many many hours of fun. It is typically about $40 I think but goes on sale and I think it is definitely a great value for the amount of gameplay you get back. If you’re into adventure, single-player, free world type games and don’t already have this, I definitely suggest looking into it!

BOOKS

I’ve been on a reading kick, as I usually do when summer comes around. I love sitting outside on the porch or by the pool with a good book. I’ve gone through a handful so far this summer and wanted to drop off some of my top picks so far. I really enjoy suspenseful, mystery, crime-type books. The first I suggest is “Eeny Meeny” by M.J. Arlidge. This is the first book in a series that revolves around a detective solving murders. I will warn that these can get a bit graphic. This book was so good with a lot of interesting twists and reveals throughout it.  I enjoyed it from beginning to end and have just started the second book of the series. Another great book was “The Woman in Cabin 10” by Ruth Ware. It was the first book I read by her and I was captivated the whole time. It was about a journalist who goes on a luxury cruise only to witness something terrible that she then has to solve. I loved the setting for a summer read and the end was fantastic. I also just picked up “In A Dark Dark Wood” by this author and will start it as soon as I finish the M.J. Arlidge novel!

SONGS

I have been truly jammin out this month. I recently made my new Spotify playlist and have loaded it up with new songs. My non-stop listens this month are “There For You” by Martin Garrix & Troye Sivan, “Don’t Matter Now” by George Ezra, and “Save Me” by flora cash. I love just about every song with Troye Sivan on it, they are always so catchy and impossible to not dance or lip sync to. I am such a huge George Ezra fan and have been impatiently awaiting the new album. This is a new single and I think it is a great summer song that helps me feel relaxed and carefree. “Save Me” is a little more mellow and light, and is just a great song to listen to in any mood. I love it!

DECOR

I just picked up a bunch of home stuff from Target a couple of weeks ago and I have picked 3 of those things to share with you guys! I got a new little framed picture. I am working on a gallery wall and this bit will look great in it! I loved the shape and the color of the wood. It was thrown on a clearance rack for $9 so I had to grab it! I also picked up some pillows that I definitely didn’t need but you guys know how Target can suck you in. I loved them so much and they matched the vibe I am going for in my place, so I just grabbed them. I love them! They are really great colors for spring and summer and I am so excited to put them in my place in Raleigh.

That’s everything I have for June! See you guys in July!
